Paul Guzman Network House
Junior Sanchez Director, Network House
Traditionally,
wherever the armed forces of the United States have served,
members of those services have always lent a "Hand up" to
the civilians of the country within which they are serving.
In keeping with this honored tradition, through a grant
issued by the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) as administered by the City of New Bedford
through its Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD),
the Veterans Transition House sponsors a 10 (ten) bed
transitional support services program for homeless men
suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues. It
is intended as temporary housing of an individual who has
recognized their addiction and is willing to address it by
moving from the detoxification stage through the Network
House program to a long-term substance abuse program.
Usually, the participants in this program have not served in
any of the military services.
