Veterans Services and Programs
The core of our program consists of the 12-step education program.
Relapse Prevention: This group meets to address the common pitfalls of recovery. Specifi cally addresses are the issues of dealing with cravings, triggers, and temptations. Options for avoiding dangerous situations and self-deceptions are presented.
Drug Education: Those struggling with addiction know how the drug makes them feel; but they often do not know how it works nor do they acknowledge the consequences of continued drug use.
Nutrition and Health: Essentials of proper diet and exercise on a practical, sustainable level are addressed and practiced.
Skill Development: Training in a computer classroom and employment training/placement.
Anger Management: Groups meet to discuss anger issues and individuals work on anger management plans.
Outside Service Providers: When appropriate, Veterans are referred to outside agencies for counseling and support. Various services are provided by local, state, and federal agencies. These services include psychiatric and psychological counseling, addiction counseling, medical care, career counseling, and other supportive activities. |
