With over $1 million raised, please help us reach the goal to open these vital new resources for veterans in need.

We have raised more than $1 million in philanthropic support. Now our goal is to raise the remaining $300,000 by May 2019 in order to begin renovations in the spring. Chaired by William R. Eccles, Jr., CEO of BankFive, this campaign is being championed by many people in our community. Yet we need your support today!

Once these buildings are completed, the Veterans Transition House and our donors will have invested nearly $10 million to create a safe, nurturing campus situated on one city block.  Our goal is to transform the way local veterans are cared for, valued and supported, while also revitalizing a downtown area.

We welcome the opportunity to schedule your visit with Jim Reid, Executive Director, and to tour one or more of the seven properties expertly managed by the Veterans Transition House. We hope to earn your support with a tax-deductible contribution to our campaign. Contributions of any size are important and we truly thank you for your consideration.

To advance a 28-year commitment to meeting the high need for veterans' services, the Veterans Transition House has fully funded an $8.6 million project to construct 30 bedrooms of permanent housing. This exciting project has just begun. We are also in the final phase of a $1.3 million Building Hope for Heroes capital campaign to renovate two neighboring, blighted properties for 10 bedrooms (20 beds) of transitional housing and a greatly needed drop-in outreach center for services and referrals.

The Veterans Transition House was founded in 1990 and has provided over 3,000 formerly homeless or at-risk veterans with a combination of housing, programs and collaborations to enable veterans to gain independence. This specialized work includes an expanding involvement in facilitating medical and mental health services.  Veterans Transition House is the only organization in the region providing veterans with comprehensive resources to rise above homelessness, poverty and health challenges.
